Vulcan XH558

Salute to Her Majesty. The popularity of Vulcan XH558 goes on increasing although a number of set backs in 2011 curtailed some of the flying programme. It is now 5 years since the systems on the aircraft were re-fitted after reconditioning during the restoration of XH558 to flight. The loss of revenue caused by by recent display cancellations has created a need for more finance and to get through the winter service as least £400,000 is needed to be ready for the Diamond Jubilee of H.M. the Queen in Spring 2012. Anyone can help to support the campaign to get XH558 through the full 2012 season. More details below the photos of the aircraft visiting Baginton in 2010.

XH558 is now based at Robin Hood Doncaster Aiport - Hangar visits available, visit website.

The Vulcan to the Sky Trust is dedicating its 2012 flying programme to celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of H.M. The Queen and the Vulcan Aircraft. This is a unique opportunity for individuals and companies to join in partnership with the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to help with the recognition of all that is British, particularly in aviation heritage and engineering achievements during the sixty years of Her Majesty's reign. Running through May to September 2012, visiting over thirty destinations and touring Britain as no other icon can, Vulcan XH558 will be seen by millions of people. The names of all those who support the tour will be recorded in a hand-tooled leather book to be flown in the Vulcan and later presented to Her Majesty in a specially commissioned rosewood case. The names, and an optional message will also be featured on a special commemorative web site hosted at www.vulcansalute.com
